Background

Evara is the independent practice of Amar Kashyap. He started at ANZ across institutional banking and ventures, backing companies from Series A onward.

That work covered both sides of a deal. On the sell side, he built the models and information memoranda used to take businesses to market. On the buy side, he was the one reading those documents and deciding what to believe. In ventures, the focus was commercial modelling: unit economics, cohorts, and how a young business is really performing before it shows up in the accounts.

He then moved to corporate ventures and strategy at PEXA Group, and later joined XT Ventures as its founding investment hire, running the investment function. Along the way he learned that the model is rarely the hard part. Getting a room of smart people to agree on what it means usually is.

Outside work, he trains, watches a lot of sport, and likes travel that involves a good hike and an early morning market.
